Our Story
So, what does chéndi mean?
The word chéndi was coined by our Costa Rican grandmother to describe a beautiful orange cat named Pecos Bill, walking up her New Orleans sidewalk.
Over the years, it became our family's word for anything beautiful, cute, or happy — a cat, a bouquet, a knitted sweater, a piece of art. Paired with luna (moon in Italian and Spanish), we hope to be a little beacon of inspiration, happiness, and peace.
With many combined years in fashion, textile design, and fine art, our designers turned that shared language into a creative outlet, and Luna Chéndi was born.

Francesca
Textile Designer & Artist
Francesca has drawn since childhood, sketchbook always nearby. Studios in New York, London, and the South of France shaped her work, along with vintage illustration, music lyrics, and dreams.

Lili
Fashion Designer & Artist
Lili has followed her own beat since she was altering Barbie outfits. Her designs are lively, colourful, and whimsical, with a sparkly twist from her years designing costumes for Disney in Florida.
Where it all began
Meet our family

Johanna
Johanna has drawn and painted since she could hold a pencil, and sewn since she could thread a needle. Her creative roots in Costa Rica and Italy, plus years as a seamstress and makeup artist, shape the family tradition behind our work.

Keith
Keith started as a carpenter in rural Missouri, then travelled the world as a civil engineer, from Florence to Papua New Guinea. He brought home a love of different cultures, art, and traditions that still shapes what we make.
